South India COVID-19 Food Relief
Collaboration with Pastor Solomon and local church leaders. Sharing Groceries with families in need.
North India COVID-19 Food Relief
Collaboration with Pastor Daniel and the church. Sharing Groceries with villagers.
South India
Distributing much needed groceries for tribal families living in tents and among the lowest in the Caste System.
Each person is created in God's image; sacred with intrinsic value.
India
Our grocery distribution started for North India. With a 21 Days Lock-down, many will starve. Especially the daily wage earners. When work stops; no money for food. Pastor Daniel and volunteers customize Grocery Kits and distribute to families with hardships.
Nepal
High up in the beautiful hills of Nepal. Our Hope Center Building Project goes forth in spite of COVID-19. Together with Pastor Rabin and volunteers, we continue to bring hope and love to some of the most under-served areas of the nation. Meal program and educational program will offer hope to children and families.
Hong Kong
The Educational Authority closed schools for two months in Hong Kong to halt the spread of COVID. Our Hong Kong Team paused the Children Program to "flatten the curve". Yet, we continue to serve the most vulnerable. After sourcing masks and sanitizing material, Sylvia and our volunteers walk the streets to share with the elderly and low-income families.
From our friend, Daniel in Los Angeles, CA:
Roommate and I took a page out of Gabe's notebook and did a little community outreach this afternoon!
Shout out to D15:4 for starting the movement - highly encourage everyone to take just a little bit of time during the week to give back to your community.
Spending a couple hours a day could mean the world to those in need.
From our friend, Jeffrey in New York, NY:
Last Friday, met Singh by the park on 23rd. He was sitting over there by the sprinklers and he was shivering. Gave him the hoodie I had in my bag because I'm fortunate to have hoodies. He assumed I was homeless as well and proceeded to offer me the little bit of food he had. I declined it and looked at how tight a bond forms from being homeless. He had little to nothing to offer, but offered what he had. It's truly touching how close people come together when they are left to fend for themselves.
We met Grandma Ma in Columbus Park in New York, NY. She told us (translated):
I come out to the park and I would sit on the sunny side of the benches to keep warm and then switch side when the sun moves. I am dressed in 5 layers (showing her layers of clothes). It's nice to listen to music in the park. It's nice to see people walk out and seeing young people. Can you print the picture that we took and give me one?
From our very own Director of Public Relations, Emily in New York, NY:
These women spend all day digging through NYC trash cans, collecting cans and bottles. Then, here in a dingy Chinatown alley, they drag garbage bags filled to the brim with heavy recyclables up a whole city block to be collected. They do this every single night, sometimes working over 20 hour shifts, for 5 cents a can.
By the time our care team reached out to her, she had dragged over 10 crates and bags filled with glass and aluminum bottles, each weighing at least 10-20 pounds. With a heartwarming smile, she thanked us and told us that once she finished working, she would be getting ready to return to her housing complex in Queens.
Our friends, Novelle and Li from Hong Kong invited homeless friends to share an Easter Picnic meal together!
Victoria Choi, inspired her friends at a school event, to collect food, then hand delivered it to a Homeless Shelter. Look how happy an act of Kindness brings to everyone!
